Everyone has been asking how Matt proposed, so I have decided to fully embarrass the poor guy and tell EVERYONE!
First of all, for those of you who don't know, Matt just got a new Job in Dallas! It's his dream job working for the American Airlines Center. So, we're moving to Dallas! Since he will be moving over Memorial day weekend we had to travel to Dallas last weekend to find an apartment.
While in Dallas on Saturday morning Matt suggested that we go to White Rock Lake to look around while we wait for the apartment complexes to open. After visiting White Rock Lake, Matt said "Hey lets check out the Arboretum, I saw it on line, it's looks cool" (something to that effect). Being the clueless girl that I am I had NO IDEA what was going on. I should have know when he asked me to "dress nice to apartment shop" or when he had to go back to the car to "get his camera". Anyway, we leisurely walked through the arboretum, which was amazingly beautiful, even though he had planned it all, Matt didn't know just how gorgeous this place was going to be. We walked around for a little while, then he decided that we should go find the waterfalls we saw on the map. Of course I followed blindly ha ha Once we got to the water falls I took a few pictures (little did I know they would be our last "single" pictures) then we went to look at the pond. Matt started handing me things out of his pocket to hold, and I'm pretty sure that's when I figured out what was going on. Before I knew it he was down on one knee asking me to marry him. It was so perfect. After I said "yes" and "of course" about ten times, he pointed and told me to "look at the photographer" I was like "why?" he then said "because I booked him for the hour" TOTAL SHOCK!
There were photographers everywhere in the park so I didn't think twice when I saw one by the pond taking pictures, little did I know he was taking pictures of us the whole time. He got the entire proposal on camera! I knew that Matt would be proposing soon but I had no idea that he would plan such a perfect moment, and capture it on film! I am so grateful that he was so thoughtful and sweet because now we have our perfect moment in pictures to keep forever, and at the same time it was still an intimate and personal moment. Hands down, best proposal ever!
I just got the pictures on line from the photographer this morning. Unfortunately I can't upload any of them to face book yet. He has sent us a CD, so when I get that I will be posting them asap! When you look at the pictures it is so funny to see my face and reaction, it's priceless. There is actually one picture of him telling me about the photographer and you can see the shock on my face, it's too funny. We had the photographer for about an hour and a half after the actual proposal. The pictures he took are so genuine and sweet, we didn't get a chance to prepare at all, or pick out outfits, I didn't put on special makeup, do my hair, or plan poses. So, its just us, in love and newly engaged, they are by far the best photos we have ever taken. You can just tell how much we love each other when you look at them. I can't wait to post them!
